Mr. Atnipp was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Runnels County to William F. Atnipp Sr. and Lena Atnipp. He was raised in ballinger, moving later to San Angelo. Jack married Hazel Crockett in ballinger on May 27, 1933. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and retired from the Civil Service at Goodfellow Air Force Base on June 4, 1971. After retirement they moved to Norton until 1982 and returned to San Angelo to Rio Concho Manor where he and Hazel were presently living.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hazel Atnipp of San Angelo; three children, Thomas J. Atnipp and wife, Patricia, of South Carolina, Dollie J. Wohler and husband,
Patrick, of Oklahoma, and Margie F. Bryan and husband, Thomas, of San Angelo; grandchildren, Randy Atnipp, Bill Atnipp, Tammy and Joey Finley and Kimberly Atnipp, all of South Carolina, and Matt and Joyce Adams, both of Fort Davis, Thomas Bryan of Odessa and Justin and Marcy Bryan of Kingsville; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin
Atnipp and wife, Jean, of San Angelo; and one sister, Edna Baity of Winters.
