Husband of Nancy Tombin-Ives.
Married Nancy Tomblin on 06-Aug-1812, in Constable, Franklin Co., NY.
[Excerpts from the biographical sketch about his son, William Ellery Ives}:

"Almon and Nancy (Tomblin) Ives, were natives respectively of Vermont and New York, and the former was engaged as a farmer and civil engineer. At Malone, a town on the St. Lawrence River in New York, he married and in 1816 settled in the western part of that State when it was an unsettled country. In 1834 {the Ives family} migrated to Illinois under promise to survey the public lands. In 1854, Almon removed to Bloomington, this State {McLean CO., IL.}, and a year later came to Amboy, where he died March 5, 1864, aged 75 years and 8 months. During the last years of his life he was a stanch [sic] {staunch} supporter of the Republican party, and in his religious sentiments he was an earnest member of the Baptist Church. His wife, Nancy died at Amboy, April 22, 1862. There were 11 {nine survived} children in the family, as follows:

i. Almond Bingham Ives, [Jr.], b.07-Jul-1816, Chautauqua, Chautauqua Co., NY. d.10-Dec-1887, in Bloomington, McLean Co., IL., a lawyer at Bloomington, IL. Buried Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington, McLean Co., IL. See: FAG memorial #39466162.

ii. Simeon Parmalee Ives, b.10-Nov-1818, Chautauqua, Chautauqua Co., NY. d.11-Apr-1900, in Missoula, Missoula Co., MT., a minister in the Baptist Church. Buried: Missoula, Missoula Co., MT.

iii. William Ellery Ives, b.1821 Ellery, Chautauqua Co., NY. d.????, m. Susan Ryan, 08-Dec-1841 in Kendall Co., IL. Buried: Amboy, Lee Co., IL. See: FAG memorial #77647554.

iv. Franklin Benedict Ives, b.30-Apr-1823 in Ellery, Chautauqua Co., NY., d.01-Nov-1909, a physician whose home was in Chicago. Burial: Chicago, Cook Co., IL.

v. Isaac Sheldon Ives, b.14-May-1825 in Ellery, Chautauqua Co., NY. d.30-Nov-1851 Oswego, IL., m.Lucy Diana Hawthorne, 06-Jun-1849 in Kendall Co., IL., formerly a physician at Oswego, IL. Burial: Pavilion Cemtery, Yorkville, Kendall Co., IL. See: FAG memorial #42205192.

vi. Sarah Maria Ives, b.14-Nov-1827 in Ellery, Chautauqua Co., NY. d.16-Mar-1916, married 29-Oct-1848 in Kendall Co., IL., to: Alfred Tucker, and resided at Ottawa, IL. Buried: Amboy, Lee Co., IL. See: FAG memorial #77709894.

vii. Enos Julius Ives, b.08-Mar-1830 in Ellery, Chautauqua Co., NY. d.02-Dec-1893, m.Rebecca Moulton, 12-Sep-1853, he was a member of the Board of Trade at Chicago, was a resident of Woodlawn, IL. Burial: Chicago, Cook Co., IL.

viii. Ruth Anna Ives, b.07-Apr-1832 in Ellery, Chautauqua Co., NY. d.20-Mar-1873 Amboy, IL., married 16-Mar-1851 in Kendall Co., IL. to: Willis Hawthorn. Buried: Amboy, Lee Co., IL. See: FAG memorial #77710302.

ix. Nancy Almira Ives, b.15-Jun-1838 in Pavilion, Kendall Co., IL. d.30-Mar-1922, became the wife of Warren Clark Sears [See: FAG memorial # 77698083] on 05-May-1857 in Amboy, Lee Co.,IL. Made her home in Burlington, KS. Buried: Amboy, Lee Co., IL. See: FAG memorial #77696730.

"The Baptist society was constituted May 1855, and the same year a small temporary church on West Main street, on lot 1, block 14, Gibson's addition. The leading constituent members were Deacons: Bryant Warren Hill, and Allen E Wilcox, and their wives, Almon Ives and wife. Deacons: Samuel Bixby and wife, and William E. Ives wife. Deacons: Jacob Luce and Harvey Barrell, and their wives joined soon after. The Rev. Whittaker was the first pastor who ministered to the congregation in this house."
