Burl Ives Father Dies - Newton, IL. - Frank Ives, 67, of Hunt City near Newton, father of radio's ballad singer, Burl Ives, died today in a Chicago hospital. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Ives had been engaged in the manufacture of burial vaults in Jasper county for the last 25 years. He leaves his wife, Della, and the following children: Mrs. Audra Halterman, Villa Grove; Artie Ives, Newton; Mrs. Argola Walk, Arlington Heights; Clarence, Macomb; Mrs. Norma Gifford, Hunt City, and Burl, who makes his home in California, but who was at his father's bedside when he died. The body will be returned here for services and burial.
