"I am widow of JAMES WESLEY DAVIS, Deceased, who departed this life on the 25th April 1896, in the County of Cooke, TX. I was married to him on the 4th July 1870 near Bloomfield Academy, Indian Terr. My husband served as a Confederate soldier in the war between the States of the U.S. He served honorable from the date of his enlistment until the end of the war. He was honorably discharged. He went out with Col. Wm. Young and returned with Col. George Reeves of Grayson Co., TX. I have been a bona fide resident of this State of TX continuously since about First day of March 1877.
Samaria "Mary" Elizabeth Caroline, died in the home of her daughter Margaret Sophia Beaver and is buried in an unmarked grave.
Mary is the d/o J. R. and Nancy (Welch) Ivens.
Children Of Mary and James Davis: Horace Greeley, Emma, Charles Carlton, Louella, Sylvester, William, Edward Lilly, Minnie Jude and Margaret Sophia Davis.
After the death of her husband, James Wesley Davis, Mary married(2) Thomas L. Hurt in 1899 (3) Andrew J. Nale in Feb. 1917. No Children born of her 2nd & 3rd marriage.
