Lake Arthur: It is with great sadness that the family of Luella Broussard, 68, announces her passing on Wednesday morning from her home in Lake Arthur. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Friday, December 17, 2010 @ 2:00 PM with Father Clyde Thomas officiating. Luella's family requests visitation be observed beginning on Thursday, Dec. 16th from 1:30 PM - 9:00 PM and resume on Friday morning at 8:00 AM. A rosary will be recited by Mrs. Nella Cormier on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. Luella will be laid to rest in Hayes Cemetery.

Luella was born in Mermentau to the late Sanders and Mable Dupuis Istre on December 17, 1941. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She gave her all in everything she did and loved unconditionally. Luella enjoyed riding motorcycles, dancing, and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her 4 children, Derek Harrington and wife Deedra of Carencro, James LaCombe and wife Kendra of Killeen, TX, Mitzi Dean Stutes and husband Sheldon of Lake Charles, and Jackie LeJeune and husband Bryan of Lake Arthur; her companion, Jack Trahan of Lake Arthur; 3 sisters, Martha Hargrave of Crowley, Veltan LaComb of Lake Arthur, and Kathleen Comeaux of Iowa; 8 grandchildren, Brandy Guillory, Carla Stutes, Taylor Harrington, Kara Harrington, Cody LeJeune, Dylan LeJeune, Jayden LaCombe, Parker LaCombe, and one on the way; and her 2 great grandchildren, Ethan LeJeune and Eliza Guillory.

Now Luella rests in Heaven with her parents and brother, Cornil Istre.

Carrying Luella to her eternal resting place will be Taylor Harrington, Dylan LeJeune, Bryan LeJeune, Cody LeJeune, Sheldon Stutes, and Brock Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearers will include James LaCombe and Derek Harrington.
