Children: Jesse, 18 yrs, old; Floyd, 16 yrs. old; Windelle (sp), 15 yrs. old; Myra, 12 yrs. old; Reba, 10 yrs. old; Roselle, 7 yrs. old & Inez Isbell, 4+ yrs. old. All born in TN).

James A. Isbell, 76, died at his home on West Broad Street Wednesday, February 27, following an illness of several years. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at two thirty o'clock at the Whitson Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Thorton Fowler, pastor of the Methodist Church in charge.
A son of the late William and Amanda Isbell, spent his entire life in Putnam County. He was born in Buffalo Valley, but spent much of his young manhood in Cookeville. In 1900 he was married to Miss Cora F. Leftwich of Baxter and they resided in Baxter until 1923 when he returned to Cookeville to make his home.
Until he retired because of illness, he was actively engaged in business and civic interests of his community, and for a number of years was president of the Isbell Manufacturing Company here. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Winnell Isbell of Cleveland, Ohio, and seven daughters,
Mrs. Jessie Sloan, of Nashville, Mrs. Turley Knight of California, Mrs. Gerie Keyes of Crossville, Mrs. Tom Bilbrey, Misses Reba and Rozelle Isbell of Cookeville and Miss Jimmie Isbell of Washington, D. C. A number of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren survive, as do five sisters, Mrs. Simon Ensor of Springfield, Mrs. Jewel Lee of Nashville, Mrs. J. W. H. Terry, Mrs. W. C. Wade and Mrs. John H. Whitson, of Cookeville.
Interment will be in Cookeville Cemetery.
