Rosalyn Isaacs Andrews, M.D., 57, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

A memorial service will be held at a date to be determined.

Dr. Andrews was born in Richmond, Va., on March 15, 1949, to Robert Ray Isaacs Sr. and Vivian Victoria Demarest Isaacs, who preceded her in death.

Most of her life was spent in Winston-Salem and Lexington. She was a 1967 graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and earned a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. The first female recipient of a Kathryn B. Reynolds scholarship, she graduated from Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 1975, left as senior resident in pathology in 1983 and began a practice at Lexington Memorial Hospital.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 31 years, Kearney Hill Andrews, and their daughter, Clara Anne Adele Andrews.

She also leaves to mourn a brother, Robert Ray Isaacs Jr. and his wife, Donna Gail H. Isaacs, of Low Gap, N.C., and their son, Robert Jason Isaacs; one sister, Adelaide Anne Isaacs Smith and her husband, Lyle B. Smith, of Winston-Salem; two aunts, Peggy I. Essick and her husband, Hal Sr., of Davidson County and Ruth Gray I. Braden of Texas; one stepdaughter, Laura J.A. Stowe and her husband, Scott; one brother-in-law, Henry Raymond Andrews Jr. and his wife, Glenda S., and their children, Maria D.A. Logan and her husband, Mark, and Kelly S.A. Upshaw and her husband, Richard; and her sister-in-law, Anzenette H.A. Jenkins and her children, Vivian L. McKnight, S. Bradford McKnight and his wife, Debbie, BethAnne M. Gipe and her husband, Doug, and Virginia L.M. Sgromolo and her husband, Mark. She will also miss her special small friends, Abby and Gracie.

The family is grateful for her lifelong friends and professional associates.
