Amy M. Irwin, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the evening of May 2nd. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was born March 2, 1917, in Custer, Washington, to Frank and Rose Conn. She married the love of her life, Mickey, on November 5, 1939, who preceded her in death on September 5, 2007. They worked sided by side as owners of Irwin Hardware for 34 years. She was involved in Ferndale Community for many years, but her genuine devotion was to her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and entertaining for family and friends. Surviving Amy are daughters, Sheryl (Rick) Stefanson, Karen (Werner) Gerhardt, and son, Greg (Laura) Irwin. Grandchildren, Kurt Stefanson, Kim (Jim) Monson, Keith (Robin) Stefanson, Greg Ferry, and Jeff Ferry. Great-grandchildren, Craig and Brad Monson, Kelsie Ferry, Blake and Olivia Stefanson, and Marin and Drew Wheeler. Amy's family would like to thank the doctors; caregivers, Lisa, Linda, Fay, and Tracy; Whatcom Hospice, and her many friends who called or came to see her. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 7th, at Moles Family funeral Home, 2039 Main Street, Ferndale. Funeral Services celebrating Amy's life will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 8th, at the United Church of Ferndale, 2034 Washington Street, with burial to follow in the Enterprise Cemetery.
