BAROODY, Elizabeth May Irwin, age 82, of Providence Forge, died July 31, 2008. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 66 years, Alfred; her five children, Sherrell and husband, James Sherron, of Powhatan, Linda and husband, Tom Chaffin, of Richmond, John (Chris) Baroody of Charleston, S.C., Judith Baroody, currently on assignment in Baghdad, Iraq, and husband, Richard Krueger, of Fairfax Station, Brandon and wife, Sandra Baroody, of Williamsburg; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Thurston; her brother, Jack F. Elizabeth and Al owned and operated The Lion and Eagle Antique Shop in Providence Forge until their retirement in 2000. Elizabeth wrote and published more than a hundred articles in magazines such as Antiques and Collecting, Antiques Journal, American Collector and Antique Trader. As a photo journalist, she coupled her articles with photographs she made. She wrote short stories for Cricket Magazine and specialty journals such as Horse Illustrated and Collect America International. In 1977, her novel entitled "A Matter of Revenge," was published under the pseudonym Christy Demaine. Elizabeth wrote six additional novels featuring strong female lead characters, always at the center of the action, just as she herself lived throughout her life. A private memorial service will be held at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc., P.O. Box 66, Fairview, Tenn. 37062.
