Margaret Fannie Harper of Copperas Cove died July 25, 2005, in Copperas Cove. She was 90. Services were held July 28 at Southern Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Gibson officiating. Burial was at Copperas Cove City Cemetery.
Mrs. Harper was born Dec. 9, 1914, in Topsey, to James and Sarah Jenkins Irvine. She was reared and educated in Copperas Cove. She was a member of the swim team at Southwest Texas Teachers College. She worked in the Civil Service's finance division at Fort Hood and was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. She was an avid piano player.
Mrs. Harper had been a lifelong member of the community and attended Southern Hills Baptist Church, Eastside Baptist Church and Robinson Avenue Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons, James Arthur Survant, of Thorndale, Ervin Pittman Survant, of Salado, Robert Dee Survant, of Riesel, and Harvey R. Harper, of Waco; daughters, Sara Lee Perryman, of Copperas Cove, Margaret Ellen Good, of Pflugerville, Linda J. Guthrie, of Kempner, and Nancy A. Mumby, of West Columbia; one brother, James Donald Irvine, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Wilma Krempin, of Copperas Cove; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Harper; by brothers, Robert and Kenneth Irvine; and by a sister, Norma Louise Thompson.
The family requested memorials be made to Southern Hills Baptist Church. Arrangements by Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Inc.
