Rites For Mrs. Evans At M.E. Church Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. W.S. Evans, aged Carnegie resident, were held at the Methodist church at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon following her death at her home Saturday. Rev. R.I. Graham, pastor, conducted the services, assisted by Rev. John N. Goss, Baptist minister from Alfalfa, and the Alfalfa Methodist church choir sang. Interment was made in the Alfalfa cemetery.
Siamdia Imhoff was born April 26, 1857 in Monroe, Wisconsin, and died at Carnegie, Okla. July 14, 1934, aged 77 years, 2 months and 18 days. She moved with her parents to Carthage, Mo. in 1870. She was converted and joined the Presbyterian church in 1877 at the age of twenty years.
She was married to W.S. Evans of Golden City, Mo. April 8, 1883. The Evans family moved to a farm southeast of Alfalfa, Okla. in March, 1908 and Mrs. Evans joined the Alfalfa Methodist church. In 1915 the family moved to New Mexico and four years later returned to Oklahoma to make their home in Carnegie and where she became a member of the Methodist church.
Mrs. Evans is survived by her husband, W.S. Evans, and two adopted children, Mrs. J.M. James of Alfalfa and Lefler Evans, Springdale, Ark., besides three brothers, M.C. Imhoff of this place, W.D. Imhoff, Golden City, Mo. and Luther Imhoff, Philmore, Calif.
