Joyce was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to John Imhoff and Anna (Ballering) Imhoff. She attended school in Milwaukee and worked at the phone company for several years during and following World War 2.
Joyce C. Imhoff met Charles "Chuck" C. Breske after he returned from the war in Europe. Joyce and Chuck were married on October 9, 1948. Chuck re-enlisted after they were married and he and Joyce made the Army their career.
During the 26 years of Chuck's Army career, they lived in many states, as well as spending some time in Germany. Joyce managed the family when Chuck was twice deployed to Korea as well as for the first six months of his tour of duty in Germany.
Joyce loved to sew, crochet, work with ceramics, read, and in her younger years, roller skate. Joyce was a devoted wife and mother. She was a great cook and enjoyed making not only wonderful family meals but great desserts to go with them. Joyce was a Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.
