Margaret Robinson Ikerd, 83, of Hamilton, Ill., died at 8:08 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at her home.
Born Jan. 14, 1927, in Quincy, Ill., she was the daughter of Everett and Hazel DeJaynes Robinson. On Dec. 1, 1949, she married Donald L. Ikerd in Quincy.
Mrs. Ikerd worked at Sheller Globe since 1966, retiring in 1988. She was a member of United Steel Workers Local 444.
She enjoyed puzzles and playing cards, especially Canasta, Tripoli, Pinochle and Pitch. She also enjoyed crocheting and sitting in her swing, watching people pass.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Michael Dean "Mike" Ikerd of Warsaw, Ill.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, two brothers and six sisters.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home in Hamilton, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Ikerd will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
Memorials have been established for Alzheimer's Association and the American Lung Association.
