MILLERSBURG -- Nancy M. Hipp, 86, of Millersburg, died Monday evening, Jan. 30, 2012, after a brief stay at Sycamore Run Nursing Center while under Hospice care and was surrounded by her loving family and her constant companion, her dog Rosita.
Her family will celebrate Nancy's life in a private memorial service with pastor Don Doerfer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.
There will be no calling hours. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is assisting the family.
She was born Oct. 19, 1925 in Akron, to Benjamin and Velma Igleheart, and married Gerald R. Hipp on June 17, 1944. She was preceded in death by her husband in March 1997; and a son, Gary L. Hipp in August 2004.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Millersburg. Nancy and her husband traveled the world extensively for many years. They divided their time between homes in Millersburg and Coral Gables, Fla., providing wonderful memories for family and friends. Many adventures and stories can be remembered from fishing and boating in the Islands with Nancy and Gerald. She was a friendly, caring and generous lady who was lovingly known as GoGo by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are daughters, Charlotte Morrison of Worthington, Nancy (Randall) Hummel and Mary Golovchenko, both of Millersburg; a daughter-in-law, Sue Hipp of Millersburg; grandchildren, Ben (Lisa) Hipp of Big Prairie, Don (Roxie) Hipp of Auburn, W.Va., Tom (Kandi) Hipp of Millersburg, Melissa Anrig of San Diego, Calif., Allison (William) Walters of Canton, Ga., Larisa (Guy) Self of Worthington, Benjamin (Stephanie) Morrison of Exeter, N.H., Joseph (Melanie) Morrison of Portland, Maine, and Julie Hipp and Johnny Golovchenko, both of Millersburg; 16 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, John C. Hipp of Millersburg and Delmar Hipp of Leesburg, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Betty Jones of Akron and Mary Hipp Russell of Millersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the many loving caregivers who made it possible for Nancy to remain at home for the past four years; the staff who provided such exceptional care at Sycamore Run Nursing Center; and the compassionate care providers of Hospice.
