Tennie Jane Rutledge, 77, daughter of George and Martha Ice, was born March 13, 1900 in the Grandview community and died April 19, 1977 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
She was united in marriage to Luther Aldridge Jan. 22, 1922 and to this union six children were born.
A daughter, Martha Sue preceded her in death as an infant and her husband died Oct. 24, 1965.
She lived all her life in Texas County and was a member of the Grandview Baptist Church.
She was active in community affairs and had taught school in the rural schools of the county.
On April 13, 1968 she was united in marriage to Clyde Rutledge, who died Sept. 9, 1969.
Survivors are two sons, Herman Aldridge of Cabool; and Thurman Aldridge from Springfield; three daughters, Juanita Irish of Springfield; Oneta Holloway of Cabool; and Laveta Kelley from Huggins; two brothers, Calvin and Harlin Ice of Houston; one sister, Ivan McCubbins from Yukon; one foster-brother, Roy McGuire of Springhill, KS; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 21 at the Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Murray and Rev. Arch Bolerjack officiating. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery under direction of Evans Funeral Home.
