Brenda L. Brinker, 51, of Sycamore R.D.1, died at 9:35 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2003, in Life Care, Wilkinsburg, following a lengthy illness.

She was born December 20, 1951, in Waynesburg, a daughter of Clyde Arden Iams Jr. and Doris Marie Hicks Iams of Graysville.

Mrs. Brinker resided in Westmoreland County for several years prior to returning to Graysville in 1973 and has resided in the Sycamore area since 1979.

She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Graysville.

Mrs. Brinker was a 1969 graduate of Kiski Area High School and a 1979 graduate of Penn Commercial School of Cosmetology and also a graduate of Medical Assistant Training in Morgantown, W.Va.

She enjoyed playing softball and horseback riding. She also enjoyed making crafts and her dogs.

Mrs. Brinker was listed by her physician at Dialysis Clinic Inc. of Oakland as his longest surviving home dialysis patient of 29 years at the time of her death.

She was the owner and operator of the former Brenda's Beauty Shop for several years and was last employed by Hopkins General Store in Nineveh.

On October 28, 1970, she married Robert Leroy Brinker, who survives.

In addition to her parents and husband, surviving are three brothers, Duane E. Iams of Washington, Jeffrey L. Iams of Vandergrift and Laverne "Tubby" Iams of North Apollo; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her maternal grandparents, Harry and Pearl Woodruff Hicks, and her paternal grandparents, Clyde Arden Iams Sr. and Mary Anderson Iams.

Friends of Brenda L. Brinker of Sycamore R.D.1, who died Friday, February 7, 2003, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, with the Rev. Betty Voigt officiating.

Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Center Township.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to National Kidney Foundation
