RUTH COOK Ruth LaVonne Cook, age 69, Joplin, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2001, at her residence, after a long illness.
Mrs. Cook was born November 12, 1932, in Joplin, to the late Melvin Isgrigg and Naomi Wilson Isgrigg, and was a lifetime resident.
She married Eugene L. Cook on April 6, 1959 in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1991.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Cook, Overland Park, Kan., Shawn Cook, St. James Parrish, La., and Chris Cook, Joplin; two daughters, Patricia Roderique, Joplin, and Laura LaMarr, Oronogo; one brother, Charles Mering, Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Barbara Dawson, Springfield, Mo., Judy Will, Joplin, and Jeannie Dickson, Springdale, Ark.; grandchildren, Sherrie Roderique, Roy, Washington, Niki Jones, Webb City, Brian Cook, Overland Park, Kan., Sara Roderique, Joplin, Ashley Cook, Webb City, Mana Roderique, Webb City, Amy Cook, Overland Park, Kan., Samantha Cook, Miami, Okla., Shawn Cook Jr., St. James Parrish, La., Jaden LaMarr, Oronogo, Jonathan Cook, Miami, Okla., Charles Roderique, Joplin; and two lifelong friends, Fay Roderique and Nadine Fanning.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Mering.
Mrs. Cook has been taken for cremation.
Memorial services will be Monday, at 2:00 p.m., at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Glen Dawson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Dickson, Lee Roderique, Tim LaMarr and Tim Martin.
The family will be at the home of the daughter, Laura LaMarr, 227 County Lane No. 228, Oronogo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
