Funeral services for Helen Maxine Immesoete, 84, were held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 18, 2004 at the East Gate Baptist Church in Torrington with Pastor Orville Emery officiating. Burial followed in the Valley View Cemetery. Mrs. Immesoete died peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 15, 2004 at the Torrington Community Hospital following several years of battle with a brain tumor. Visitation was held at the Colyer Funeral Home on Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The casket was open at the church prior to service time. Those who wish may direct memorial contributions in Helen's memory to the Torrington Senior Friendship Center. Arrangements were under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home.She was born on Aug. 11, 1920, in Custer County, Nebr., the daughter of Ray and Mary (Hartson) Renz. Helen began her formal education in Milburn, Nebr., and then when in the ninth grade, she moved with her family to Lusk, where she completed her education. On April 5, 1942, she married William "Bill" Immesoete in Harrison, Nebr., and together the couple owned and operated the ranch south of Van Tassell, until their retirement in 1983. They then moved to Torrington. Helen was a member of the "Help One Another" Club and she had served as a 4-H leader. The couple's three children attended school at Prairie Center as well as in Lusk and Torrington. While the children were in school in town, Helen would work as a clerk at the Ben Franklin Stores; first in Lusk and then in Torrington. Helen and Bill also drove the school bus for the Prairie Center School District in northern Goshen County.She is survived by daughter Janet Bell of Casper, son Garret Immesoete of Worland and daughter Cheryl King of Gillette; a brother Clifford Renz of Reliance and sister Shirley Reich of Star, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 16, 2002; her parents and brothers Fred and Wayne Renz.
