Tracy, Margaret (5 April 1857 - 21 June 1936)

Mrs. Margaret Tracy died at 3:30 Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. G. Druding, following a lingering illness, at the age of 79 years. She had made her home with her daughter since the death of her husband, the late Lyman Tracy, thirteen years ago.

Deceased was one of a family of Wisconsin Pioneers who came from Nova Scotia to Clark County, Wis., and settled in a then heavy timber country.

She was born April 5, 1857 to Charles and Nancy Hyslip in Weston Township, Clark County. She attended a common school and the River Falls Normal and later taught school several terms. She was married to Lyman Tracy in 1874. They cleared a spot in virgin forest and built a home nine miles north of what is now Neillsville, Wis.

To this union 13 children were born. Her husband and four children preceded her death.

Surviving are; Mrs. Mark Chadwick, Greenwood, Wis.; Mrs. Ethel Wheeler, Chemung, Ill.; Homer Tracy, Mrs. Gladys Beardsley and Mrs. E. G. Druding, Ellsworth and Bernard Tracy of St. Paul; Mrs. V. H. Nelson, Los Angles, Calif.; William, Minneapolis, and Robert, Eau Claire.

Mr. and Mrs. Tracy moved from Clark County to Pierce county 34 years ago, settling in Trimbelle Township where they lived for many years. They moved to Red Wing where Mr. Tracy passed away. Mrs. Tracy then came to Ellsworth to make her home with her daughter.

Funeral services took place at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church, Rev. Graham officiating. Interment will be made at Maple Grove Cemetery.
