Mrs. Maude E. Carden, 90, 507 Rose Avenue, Johnson City, died Monday, June 7, 1999, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Carden was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Benny F. and Martha McKinney Hyder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Carden, August 21, 1995, and by three brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Carden had lived in Johnson City for a number of years. She attended the Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Pearl and Clyde "Buck" Estep, Johnson City, Nila June Reece, Knoxville, and Lona Nell Malone, Elizabethton; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Estep, Leesburg, Fla.; a brother, Roy
Hyder, Erwin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Charlie Templeton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
CARDEN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Maude E. Carden, 90, 507 Rose Avenue, Johnson City, who died Monday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lon Tobin and Rev. Dave Shorter officiating.
Mrs. Trilla Little, organist, will provide the music. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Happy Valley Memorial Park.
