Lois Defean Breedlove departed this life the evening of April 10, 2006 at Sunset Village of the Ozarks, St. Robert, Missouri, at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 9 days.

Lois was born July 1, 1914 in Rogersville, Missouri. She was one of eight children born to the union of the late James Charles "Dude" Hyde and Carrie (Burks) Hyde.

The Hyde family lived on the Webster/Christian County line, but the children attended the Rogersville schools.

Lois accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at a young age, and was baptized in the Finley River. She was a member of the La Rose Church and attended the First Baptist Church in Webster County.

On July 31, 1932 in Rogersville, Lois was united in marriage with Robert Monroe Breedlove. Lois and Robert were blessed with one son, Charles Dale. Both Robert and Charles preceded Lois in death.

Robert and Lois moved to the Waynesville, Missouri area in 1951. Lois worked at the Fort Leonard Wood Bus Station for over 30 years, and attended the First Baptist Church of Waynesville for more than 50 years where she was extremely involved in church activities until her health no longer permitted her attendance. Lois was a long time member of the Hansen Chapter #22 Order of the Eastern Star in Waynesville, serving as Worthy Matron in 1974. In 1988, she was designated as Grand Representative to the state of Tennessee, and followed with the appointment as the District Deputy Grand Matron in 1990. She loved reading, traveling and visiting with family and friends.

Lois was very dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her grandson: Jeffrey Breedlove and his wife, Alisa of Waynesville, MO; two sisters: Kay Matthews and Vivian Carter, both of Richardson, TX; daughter-in-law: Doris Davenport and her husband, Dale of Waynesville, MO; three great grandchildren: Charles, Brittany and Bradley Breedlove; one great-great grandson: Trever Breedlove along with several other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, her husband, and her son, Lois was also preceded in death by two sisters: Jeannie Campbell and Maxine St. John, and three brothers: Ray, Rex and Jim Hyde.

An Eastern Star service was held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of Waynesville with a White Shrine service following.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 13, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of Waynesville with Rev. Roger Marshall officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Serving as escorts were Tim Blosser, Charles Breedlove, Terry Collins, Kenny Morgan, Terry Schultz, Chuck Thompson and Ellis Wallace. Serving as honorary escort was Mike Case.

Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Waynesville/St. Robert.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hansen Chapter #22 Order of the Eastern Star.
