daughter of John Shepherd(abt 1788) and Mary Polly Brooks(abt 1795)
mother of five boys
All her childrens graves except Monroe's have been located.
Monroe was born about 1855 and married a woman named Ruth and they had 2 children, Emmer B and Lilly. His occupation is listed as farmer on the 1880 Blue Eye Talladega Census.
So much controversy surrounds Louisa's name. She is listed all over the internet as Lou Gilmore thanks to an incorrect and undocumented paper that was suppose to have been dictated by Allen Hutto in 1909 to his son JR Hutto in Texas and sent to Jasper Hutto. Although we know very little about Louisa's family we have found her marriage license to Henry J Hutto from Barbour county records and know her name is Lydia Louise Shepherd. The only connection I can make to Gilmore is possibly a sister named Abigail was married to a George Gilmore.
Louisa and Henry were my gr gr gr Grandparents.
