Mrs. Marvin R. Berry, 58, of Winnfield, died in a local hospital at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 1964, after a lingering illness. A native of Dodson, she was the former Lela Hutson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hutson. She had been a resident of Winnfield for many years and for a number of years was employed at the Winnfield General Hospital.
Mrs. Berry was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. George Ross, and Dr. W. L. Holcomb of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Acting as pallbearers were nephews: Johnny Waters, Thomas Dean, Lee Roy Berry, James Berry, Benny Mooney, and Lamar Berry.
Surviving are her husband, Marvin R. Berry of Winnfield; two sons, Donald B. Berry of Homestead, Fla., and Melvin E. Berry of the U.S. Army; two daughters, Mrs. Jimmy Crippen and Mrs. Paul Case, both of Baton Rouge; two brothers, O. E. Hutson of Haynesville and M. R. Hutson of Long Beach, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. A. A. Berry of Pineville, Mrs. J. L. Waters and Mrs. I. B. Cole, both of Winnfield; and six grandchildren.
