Born in Pickens co, SC., Abner married Lucinda Deviney, 26 Jan 1823, in South Carolina and together they had nine children--John Francis Marion, Mary Ann, Eliza Adeline, Sara Mariah, Harriett Jane, Robert Maxwell, William Berry, Abner Lewis and Susan Emeline. After Lucinda's death he married Nancy Miller Rominger Johnson, 25 Mar 1858 in Anderson, SC. They had one child, Mary Elvira. The couple moved to Missouri after her birth.
There is no proof but Drury Hutchins has been mentioned as his father.
