Mrs. Thelma Butler Hussey, age 86 of Lyons, died early Friday, October 22nd after a brief illness. A native of Pelham, GA., she had resided in Lyons since 1996. She was a retired Registered Nurse, having service in the U. S. Army in WWII, a homemaker and member of Lyons Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Francis Hussey in 2001.
Survivors include: two sons Read Saunders of Rhode Island and Hagan Hussey, Jr. of Summerville, S.C., two daughters Elissa Hall of Hartwell, GA., and Harriett Bennett, of Knoxville Tenn., two brothers, Elmer Butler of Pelham, GA., and G.W. Butler of Prattville, Alabama, two sisters Elizabeth Hamilton of Eatonton, GA. and Kay Aldridge of Cairo, GA., eight grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Thelma Butler Hussey was held Monday morning, October 25, at 11:00 from the Chapel of Jones-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Lyons City Cemetery. Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons was in charge of the arrangements.
