William Van Hussey
Col. William Van Hussey of Chesapeake, Va., 52, died July 14 at home.
He was born in Murray, Ky., and was an active duty member of the Army, serving at Supreme Allied Command Atlantic with North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Norfolk, Va. He graduated from Bellevue High School in Omaha, Neb., and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy College in Wahoo, Neb., and completed his graduate studies at Central Michigan University.
He worked for International Business Machines in Binghamton, N.Y., before joining the Army in 1970. He was commissioned in the Signal Corps upon completion of Officer Candidate School in 1971 and was inducted into the Infantry OCS Hall of Fame in 1994.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Bettye Hook Hussey of Chesapeake; a son, William John of Chesapeake; a daughter, Elizabeth of Chesapeake; a sister, Patty Hussey Nall of Clearwater, Fla.; an uncle, Roy Hussey of Savannah; an aunt, Elaine Hussey Buxton of Savannah; several cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
FUNERAL: 10:30 a.m. today at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake.
INTERNMENT: 10 a.m. Saturday in Bonaventure Cemetery.

REMEMBRANCES: American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
