JoANN LEE "JODY" AIKEN, 52, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Hartford, Mich., passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Born July 17, 1953, in Hins-dale, Ill., she was the daughter of James and Dorothy Hurt. She was a 1971 graduate of Hartford High School where she was Lead Majorette and Homecoming Queen. She married Franklin M. Aiken Jr. on July 17, 1984. She proudly tended to her gardens and yard as a happy homemaker. She also enjoyed riding with her husband on their Harley and traveling with her husband to various places of historic and natural interest around the country. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband, Frank; mother, Dorothy of Hartford, Mich.; children, Candace (Matthew) DeYoung of Kalamazoo, Mich., James (Abbey) Anthony of Columbia City, Jessica Aiken of Stevensville, Mich. and Lindsay (Randy) Smith of Coloma, Mich.; grandchildren, Morgan and Taylor Hoek, Haeleigh Mann, Lillian Smith, and one on the way; two sisters, Jerrie (Bill) Williams and Donna (Frank) Bower; and niece, nephews and their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by her father. She will be missed by her family and friends. A funeral service to honor her memory is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvin Funeral Home, 8 E. Main St., Hartford, Mich., with a committal service to immediately follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Local visitation is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, 2415 W. Shoaff Road, Huntertown, with a prayer near the end of the visitation.
