Charles L. Hurst, 72, 3609 Torquay Road, died Sunday in Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Van Buren, Ky., graduated from Western High School in Anderson County, Ky., and later lived in Dayton, Ohio, before coming to Muncie 20 years ago.
Mr. Hurst was employed more than 50 years with Dayton-Walther Corp. both in Muncie and in Dayton. He was a member of Calvert Avenue Church of Christt.
Surviving are his wife Lucy, to whom he was married more than 51 years; two daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Glenn) O'Harold, Lebanon, Ohio, and Nancy (Mrs. Jim) Cumming, Dayton, Ohio; three sons, Charles Hurst, with the Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, Benson Hurst, Yorktown, and Daniel Hurst, Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Ruby McAllister, Columbus, Virginia Champion, Dayton, Ohio, and Dorothy Shely, Bardstown, Ky.; two brothers, Bob Hurst, Houston, Texas, and John Hurst, Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be in Meeks Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, with Richard Gant officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling at the mortuary is 6 to 9 p.m. today or before services Wednesday.
