PORTLAND - Gladys Ambers, 68, a longtime local resident, died Sunday in Portland.
She was born Aug. 14, 1910, in Myrtle Point to Jerry and Bina Gilbert Huntley.
On Dec. 13, 1928, she married Clifford L. Ambers in Powers, who survives.
She was a resident of Klamath Falls for 33 years before moving to Portland in 1933. She later moved to Forest Grove.
She was a member of the Jeremiah Huntley pioneer family which came over the Applegate Trail in 1847 and settled near Roseburg.
In addition to the widower, survivors include a son, Cliff Ambers, Jr., of Klamath Falls, a daughter LaVerne Robertson, Portland; a brother, Ted Meyers, Willamina; a sister, Frances Forsythe, North Plains; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
