Alice M. Emerick, 82, of Hope died at 8:35 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at her home.
She retired from Arvin Industries in 1976 after 28 years of service and also was a homemaker.
She was a member of Hartsville United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home at Hope, with the Rev. Richard Grubaugh officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bartholomew County or to the donor's choice of charities.
Mrs. Emerick was born in Decatur County June 13, 1916, the daughter of Albert E. and Opal C. Dorsey Hunter. She married Carl Mote Dec. 2, 1934. He died March 30, 1958. She married Wayne Emerick Oct. 4, 1974. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Gerald Mote of Hope; a stepson, Merrill Emerick of Palo Alto, Calif.; a sister, Ellen Bowlby of Greens-burg; four grandchildren; a stepgrandson; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Iva McLaughlin; and a brother, Earl Hunter.

Funeral for Alice May Emerick, 82, of Hope was conducted Thursday at Norman Funeral Home at Hope with the Rev. Richard Grubaugh officiating. Carol Tatman was organist.
Burial was at Hope Moravian Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill and George Rose, Gary Bowlby, Melvin Hunter, John L. Evans and Carl Turner.
Mrs. Emerick died Monday, Nov. 16, 1998, at her home.
