SHREVEPORT, AL - Graveside services for Louis Hunter, 97, will be held at 2:30pm Tuesday, Dec 21, 2010 at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. James E. Carter. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2pm before the service on Tuesday at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Caution-Home.

Louis was born on October 31, 1913 in Joaquin, TX, to James and Pearl Templin. She passed away on December 18, 2010. She attended Logansport High School and then attended Stephen F. Austin and Texas State University in San Marcus. Louis was a resident of Shreveport and known as "Happy Hunter".

She was a Master Flower Show judge since 1977 and had served as past President of Summer Grove Garden Club, Arrangers Study Club, Hemerocallis Study Club, Broadmoor Study Club and president of the 4th District Judges Council.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James H. Hunter; brothers, Gilford and Ambrose Templin. She is survived by her son, Ted A. Hunter and wife, Martha of Shreveport, LA; daughter Carol A. Hunter Carter and husband, Rev. Dr. James E. Carter of Natchitoches, LA and Jimmie Ruth Hunter Butler and husband, Judge Robert Y. Butler of Arcadia, LA; 5 grandchildren, Craig Carter, Keith Carter, Chyrisse Ann Carter Miller, John H. Hunter and James H. Hunter; and 16 great-grandchildren.
