Samuel L. Hunter, oldest son of William and Jane (Carr) Hunter, was born in Ohio, January...1820 and died April 15, 1902, at the home of his daughter, Deliah Price, Agenda, Kansas. He was married to Lydia M. Heisler, June 5, 1851, who died February 24, 1901. To their union were born twelve children, two of whom died when small and ten are living to mourn the loss of a loving parent. All his married life, he lived one and a half miles west of Terre Haute, Illinois until about fifteen years ago when they went to Sherman County, Kansas, to live with their children. Besides his children he leaves one aged brother in Oklahoma. Several years ago, he united with the Christian Church and died with perfect faith in his savior. Death was caused by a stroke of Paralysis which broke a blood vessel on his brain.
