Mrs. Laura A. Ellison 655 East Street, wife of Ernest Ellison died about 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at the York General Hospital. She had been in failing health for sometime. Born February 8 1887, 3 miles west of Exeter on the old homestead, as Laura A. Hunt at the age of 6 months Laura moved with her family to Wright, Kansas there she remained for 12 years, then moved back to Exeter, Nebraska. Durning her youth she joined the Baptist Church of Exeter. December 24, 1907 she and Mr. Ernest Ellison were joined together in Holy wedlock in Geneva, Nebraska. The couple farmed near Exeter for about year and then moved within the vicinity of Geneva where they continued farming until 1937. They retired and moved to Geneva. Ten years ago they came to York to make their home. Laura Ellison attended the
Church of the Nazarene in York for a number of years, about 5 years ago she joined the church and was faithful member until her Lord called her home. Surviving are her husband Ernest,one son Ralph of Thayer two daughter, Mrs. Glenn Finn, Lemoyne, Nebraska and Mrs Fancis Baker of Geneva, two brothers Mr. Bern Hunt of Colorado and Mr. Dennis Hunt of Exeter and three sisters Mrs. Blanche Donahue of York, Mrs Edith Kranda of Fairmont and Mrs. Ida Moor of Exter. 15 Grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.Her parents, one brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
