FUNERAL OF MRS. H.M. BURT---Services for Former Resident Conducted at Newton---Northampton, March 26---The funeral of Mrs. Henry M. Burt, formerly of this city, was held yesterday morning at Channing church, Newton, of which Mrs. Burt was the oldest resident member. Rev. Chester A. Drummond officiated and there was instrumental music by two great-granddaughters of Mrs. Burt, Dorothy Burt,14, organist of the Allston Methodist church, and Barbara Burt, violinist in the Brookline High School orchestra, daughters of Prof. F. Allen Burt of Boston university. Burial was in Bridge Street Cemetery, this city, where a committal service was conducted by Rev. Edmund B. Young, pastor of the Unitarian church.
Mrs. Burt was a sister of Mrs. Luther J. Warner of this city, and aunt of Hunt Warner of this city, and Joseph Warner of Hartford. She leaves a son, Frank H. Burt of Newton; two grandsons, Prof. F. Allen Burt and Philip H. Burt; three great-granddaughters and a great-grandson. Mrs Burt's husband, the late Henry M. Burt, came to Northampton from his native town of Otisco, N.Y., and learned the printing business in the office of the Hampshire Gazette. He founded the New England Homestead, and for many years published the paper "Among the Clouds", printed on the summit of Mount Washington."
