CATHERINE M. BASCHE
Catherine M. Basche, 72, 2321 First St., who at one time owned and operated Kay's Clothing and Millinery in Baker, died Tuesday, July 29, 1980 at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel, 1500 Dewey Ave. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in the St. Francis Cathedral , First and Church streets, with the Rev. Robert Simard of St. Francis Cathedral officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Basche was born on August 30, 1907, to Edward M. and Clara Krotz Hummer in DeFiance, Ohio. She married Fred C. Basche on July 20, 1929, in DeFiance, Ohio. Mr. Basche preceded her in death in 1962.
She was a member of the Gray Ladies Axillary at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital and the St. Francis Cathedral.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Sproed of Baker; two brothers, Edward Hummer of Estes Park, Colo., and Donald Hummer of Toledo, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Ann and Cherie, both of Baker.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of one's choice through Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel. ~~END~~
