Elsie Looser Hullinger, 72, died peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 24, 2008, due to complications of Cancer.

She was born May 1, 1935 in St. Gallen, Switzerland and immigrated to the United States in December 1955. Elsie married Don Rogers Hullinger March 22, 1958. She is survived by her loving and kind husband, Don; their children: Don Rogers (Jenny) Hullinger, Charlotte Ann (Russell) Donaldson, Michelle (Bruce) Cummings, and Jenifer (Bradley) Westenskow; 17 grandchildren, whom she adored and loved; sister, Anna Schneebeli; brothers: Jack (Rosmarie) Looser, Jared (Lia) Looser and Nicholas (Susanna) Looser. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Verena Baumgartner Looser; oldest brother, Joe.

Elsie volunteered as a hostess at the Utah State Capital and at the Temple Square Visitor's Center where she conducted tours in German and French. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Relief Society president of the Salt Lake 40th Vietnamese Branch. After Don retired, they served temple missions in Freiberg, Germany and Atlanta, Georgia.

They also served as service missionaries for three years at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, three years in the Military Relations Division, and six months as physical facilities missionaries at the Visitor's Center at Cove Fort. For most of her married life Elsie was a homemaker. When her youngest child was in high school, Elsie started working in the Registrar's Office at Salt Lake Community College until her retirement in September 1997. She loved to sing and dance and was an active member of the Swiss Choirs Edelweiss. She loved all kinds of activities including reading, skiing, swimming, camping with her family and friends, and walks with her husband, Don.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2008, 12:00 noon at the Taylorsville 30th Ward Chapel, 4950 South 1950 West. A Viewing will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the Church, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to Services.
Elsie will be laid to rest on Friday, February 29, 2008, 12:00 noon at the Vernal Memorial Park.
