Laurence Norman "Norm" Hulett of San Andreas died Monday at a Sacramento medical center. He was 74.
He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho. He served a two-year tour of duty in the U.S. Army in Germany. He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1958 with a degree in business administration. He was an auditor for the Army Audit in Seattle and the U.S. Maritime Administration in both Seattle and San Francisco prior to moving to Calaveras County. He was a former member of the Tri-Dam Lions Club and one of the original members of Burson Volunteer Fire Company. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2600 in San Andreas.
Mr. Hulett is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ellen; his children and their spouses, Laurie and Gary Duke, Norm and Jeanne Hulett, Annie and George Long, Nancy and Vince McCartney, Mark and Robin Hulett, Kathleen and Jan Storm; 11 grandchildren, Amy and Derick Konz, Sara and Chelsea Duke, Jessica and Christopher Long, Brooks and Annie Hulett, Mollie McCartney, Matthew, Mark and Ellen Storm; and a great-grandson, Jackson Konz.
