Mrs. Alice R Fulton
Mrs. Alice R Fulton died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Forest Mathews in West Pierrepont February 26. She had been in poor health for several months and nine weeks ago suffered a stroke and paralysis from which she never recovered. The funeral was held at the Beech Plains Church on Wednesday at 11:30 Rev F O Scurrah of Canton officiating.
Mrs. Fulton was born October 2, 1850 in Westford Vermont the daughter of Reuben and Delight Coon Hulburd. When about fourteen years of age she came to this state with her parents and has since resided in Pierrepont and Russell with the exception of a few years spent in Brooklyn with her daughter. She was the last of a family of 11 children.
She was member of the Kings Highway Congregational church of Brooklyn NY. For many years she was a nurse and many are the homes that will remember her for her faithfulness in her service to them in their hours of sickness. She was of a quiet and loving disposition and dearly beloved by all who knew her. "She opened her mouth with wisdom and in her tongue is the law of kindness"
She is survived by three daughters Mrs. Forest Chilton of Brooklyn; Mrs. Forest Matthews of West Pierrepont and Mrs. Hiram Gibson of Gouverneur and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren besides several nieces and nephews
