Mrs. Bessie Beatty Dies Suddenly; Funeral Monday
Mrs. Dallas Beatty, Sr., 990 North Main street, died suddenly at her home Saturday, Nov. 27.
She was the former Bessie Hulbert, a daughter of Grant and Lettie Cox Hulbert, and was living on English Ridge at the time of her marriage on Sept. 25, 1912, to Mr. Beatty. They have spent their entire married life here except two years in the early 20's when they lived at Iron Mountain, Mich. The Beattys observed their golden wedding in 1967.
She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, the V.F.W. auxiliary and the Rebekah lodge. She was a Gold Star Mother, her son Wayne having died in World War II while serving in France.
Surviving are three sons, Dallas Jr., Madison, Dale, Gays Mills, and Robert, Eau Claire; a daughter, Norma, Mrs. James Honer, rural Muscoda; one brother, Harold Hulbert, Milwaukee; three sisters, Miss Gladys Hulbert, Mauston, Mrs. John Talsma and Mrs. Edith Fry, Madison; 13 grandchildren and 12 [great grand] children.
Funeral services were Monday afternoon at the Pratt Chapel with the Rev. Lester Mathews officiating. Burial was in the Richland Center cemetery.
