BEULAH (HUIZENGA) HOOK, 78, of Fulton, died Friday at the Harbor Crest Nursing Facility, Fulton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip Sneller, pastor of the First Reformed Church in Fulton, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Philip Bielema, Stephen Gowan, John A. Hook, James Kramer, Mark Krum, Chuck Smith, Ryan Wilkens, Julie Bielema, Marcus Hook, Christina Krum and Michelle Wilkens.
She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Newton Township, Ill., to Claus and Mary Van Kampen Huizenga. She married Marvin Hook on Oct. 4, 1945, in Fulton. She graduated from Erie (Ill.) High School in 1943. She was a member of the First Reformed Church and the church's Helping Hand Society. She also volunteered at the local nursing home helping with the music. She was engaged in farming with her husband in Albany and Morrison, Ill. She also worked part time at the National Tea Grocery Store in Morrison.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Mary (Stephen) Gowan of Morrison; one son, John A. (Judy) Hook of Morrison; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Memorials may be made to the First Reformed Church radio broadcast.
