Virginia H Edmundson was born April 28, 1920, in Pueblo, Colo.; and departed this life on Nov. 21, 2008, in Trinidad, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lewis E. Edmundson; parents, Irma (Witt) and Clay M. Hughes; stepmother, Zitta (Wolf) Hughes; brother, Clay J. Hughes; and infant grandson, Jeffrey Edmundson. Survived by son, Lewis A. "Beaver" (Katherine) Edmundson, Walsenburg; granddaughter, Kimberly (Darryl) Leslie, Alamogordo, NM; grandsons, Tyler (Kassi) Edmundson, Walsenburg and Chad (Natalie) Edmundson, Sugar City; great-grandchildren, Caysen, Mayci, Dara, Reid and Trey; and sister-in-law, Louise Newton, Pueblo. Virginia graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo in 1937. She and Lewis were married Oct. 7, 1939, in the Methodist Church in Walsenburg. They resided on their Huerfano County ranch until Lewis's death in 1997. Virginia was a life member of Huerfano County Cowbelles and Colorado Cattle Women, an Honorary Life Member of FCE and past president and Life Member of the National Association of Women Highway Safety Leaders. She was an excellent seamstress and served many years as a 4-H leader and clothing judge. The United Church of Walsenburg was her church home. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service, 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, United Church, Walsenburg. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home office.
