AREATHA MAE CLARK

Areatha Mae Clark, was born on April 7, 1918, to Joseph and Dellie Kirkland Hughes.
Reather attended the New Hope Baptist Church in Cedarville for 50 years. She was a faithful and tireless member working diligently, always ready to help out where she could. She was a member of the senior choir, the missionary board, the mother board and the Golden Warriors. She had very special and dedicated friends whom she talked to or sang with everyday.
She was predeceased by four sisters, Tera Mae Bell, Iona Tuner, Ether Mae Daniels and Belle Thomas; four brothers, Al, LB, William and Benny Hughes of Florida; a daughter, Essie Mae; a son, Roland Clark; and grandsons, Glen Lewis and William Saunders.
Reather leaves to cherish her memories two sons, John (Ann) Lewis of Hillcrest, N.Y., and Eugene Clark of Norfolk, Va.; five daughters, Arlene (Earl) Barbary of Vineland, Pauline (Eric) Adams of Cedarville, JoAnn (Richard) Pitts of Vineland and Kathleen Burno of Millville, and a very special daughter, Carla (Godfrey) Vaughan of Virginia; a sister-in-law, Cathleen Handy , a nephew, Jack Hughes; daughter-in-laws, Shirley Clark of Millville and Vanessa Atkinson of Cape May; grandchildren, Anthony (Nora) Burno of Virginia, Steve (Evelyn) Pitts of Pennsylvania, Glenda (Paul) Thorpe of Washington, D.C., Annette Saunders, Perry Boozer, Trayvond Barbary, Rosalind Lewis, Andre (Vickie) Clark, DaShawna Clark, Roland Clark Jr., and Latoya and Vanessa Clark; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be held at noon Saturday at the United House of Prayer for all People, 315 N. Fourth St., Vineland, with the Rev. James Goolsby officiating. Interment will be in the Fernwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the church.
