Viola W. Hughes, 74, died Thursday (April 21, 1988) at Duke University Hospital. She was born in Flemington and lived in Plainfield for almost 40 years. She also lived in Lake Forest, Ill., before moving to Whispering Pines in 1974. Mrs. Hughes worked for about 10 years as a radiologist technician in Plainfield for Dr. Boyes. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Pinehurst, N.C. Surviving are her husband, Thomas J. Hughes; two sons, Thomas J. of Evanston, Ill., and John David of Algonquin, Ill.; and two grandchildren. Arrangements are by Wenban Funeral Home in Lake Forest, Ill.
