Born on June 18, 1927 in Nesmith, she was one of five children of John Frank Mobley and Carrie Eva Woodberry.
Mrs. Hughes was a daycare worker at Remount Baptist Church and had formerly been employed in a dress factory.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Willis and husband Thomas of Hanahan, SC; grandchildren: James Bowers of Moncks Corner, SC, Larry Bowers and wife Emily of Virginia Beach, VA, Derek Ayers and wife Kristina of St. George, SC, Michael Bowers of Moncks Corner, SC, Thomas Adams and wife Darlene of Moncks Corner, SC, David Adams of Hanahan, SC; sister, Rosa Dean of Georgetown, SC; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Bonnie H. Bowers.
Interment was in Carolina Memorial Park.
