OBITUARY - Port Arthur News, Port Arthur, Texas, Sun., Dec. 20, 2009:
Yoland Wyonn Trahan, 74, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, December 18, 2009, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
She was born on September 24, 1935, in Nash, Oklahoma, and lived in Port Arthur for over sixty years. Yoland worked at Sam Houston Elementary in the school Cafeteria and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Port Arthur. She loved to cook for her family and her church; she loved to play the piano and was in her church choir where she did the sign language for the hearing impaired during the songs at the services.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-six years, Felecian "Red" Trahan of Port Arthur; daughter, Rose Garner and her husband Larry of Nederland; son, Rick Trahan of Dixon, Illinois; brothers, Calvin Hugg of Lufkin, Pruett Hugg of Alvin, Truett Hugg of Michigan and Herman Hugg of Lufkin; sisters, Georgia Shuff of Nederland and Martha Schuell of Lufkin; grandchildren, Mark Jones of Houston and Aaron Trahan of Wisconsin.
A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2009, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
