Bettie Jane Huffman Barber, 71, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, January 28, 2006 in the Kendal at Lexington.
Mrs. Barber was born October 4, 1934 in Buena Vista, a daughter of the late Jesse James Huffman, Sr. and Grace Mabel Shaw Huffman.
She was a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Mrs. Barber was preceded in death by her brother, Jesse James Huffman, Jr. and a sister, Janell Phipps.
Surviving is her husband of 52 years, Richard William Barber; a son, Brandley H. Barber and wife, Terrie Lynn; a daughter, Jennifer A. Martin and husband Jim; one grandson, Justin B. Martin and wife, Holly; one great granddaughter, Haley Grace Martin, all of Buena Vista.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. W. A. Mills and the Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.
