William Huffman

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove for William "Alan" Huffman of Cottage Grove, who died Jan. 26 of complications from heart surgery. He was 75. Burial on Saturday will be at Fir Grove Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Carmen and Ramona Reed Huffman. He married Mary Laverne Thweatt on Aug. 20, 1955.

He graduated from Cottage Grove High School, and served in the National Guard in Cottage Grove for four years.

He worked for 37 years in the woods division of Bohemia Inc., until his retirement in 1992.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Whetham and Shari Kimery, both of Cottage Grove; a son, Terry of Hillsboro; a brother, Raymond of Phoenix, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
