Mrs. Katherine Nell Squires Hudson of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ernest Bingham Squires and Doshia Alma Russell Squires, was born on January 6, 1918, in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill in Greensburg. She was 91 years, three months and 17 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker, a member of the local Rook Club, past 4-H Leader, a member of the United Methodist Missionary Society and the Highland Homemakers. She united in marriage to Boyce E. Hudson on September 19, 1936, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1999. To this union was born a son, William Ed Hudson who also preceded her in death on June 28, 2004. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Sue Hudson of Lexington; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hudson-Giles and her husband Gene of Lexington; a grandson, Jack Hudson and his fiance' Kristen Blanford of Poole, Kentucky; a great-granddaughter, Katie Giles of Lexington; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, E.B. Squires, Jr. and James Winfrey Squires. The funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Squires Hudson were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral with burial that followed in the Hudson Cemetery. Rev. Liz Kaznak officiated. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, which can be made at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
