Born in Johnston County on August 23, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Alcy Thomas and Louise Anner Pittman Price, and was preceded in death by her husband, Jarvis Butler Hudson; two sons, Alcy Hudson and James Raymond Hudson and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Hudson enjoyed working in her garden, cooking, and was known for her "granny pancakes". She was a member of the Smithfield Church of God.
Funeral services were held on Monday April 19, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, the Reverend Harold Anderson, Reverend J. Dan Hudson, and Reverend Mike Wells officiated. The family received friends following the service, and other times were at the home of Pat Brunty, 102 Knollwood Drive, Smithfield. Burial was held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 10:00 am at Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.
Survivors include her son, J. Dan Hudson and wife Debbie of Garner; two daughters, Barbara Sargent of Fayetteville, and Pat Brunty of Smithfield; a step brother, Mack Pittman of Kinston; two sisters, Margery Robbins of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ruth Shirley of Chesapeake Virginia; a sister-in-law, Eloise Price of Selma; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
