NORFOLK - Mary Hudgins Beaudoin , 81, of the 1000 block of Broadfield Road, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. Born in Mathews County, Virginia, to George and Mamie Hudgins in 1928, Mary wed Roger Blake Beaudoin in 1945. The devoted couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in March. Known affectionately to some as "Annie" and to others as "Nina," Mary was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Adult Bible Class at Christ United Methodist. She was retired from Suburban Cleaners, where she dedicated nearly 40 years to managing the family-owned business. The matriarch of her family, Mary will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Roger; her four children and their spouses: Stephen Beaudoin and wife Kristen, Keith Beaudoin and wife Deborah, Donna Hallers and husband Bruce, all of Norfolk, and Linda Taylor and husband Joe of Covington, La.; her 10 grandchildren, Kody and Kasey Beaudoin , Zachary and Nicholas Beaudoin , Brian, David, William, and Robert Hallers, and Bradley and Curtis Taylor; her siblings, James Hudgins Sr. and wife Charlotte, Joseph Hudgins Sr. and wife Carlene, Peggy Voight; and her six great-grandchildren, Brian Keith, Joshua, and Adam Hallers, Jenna and Jessie Hallers, and Joseph William Hallers.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie and George Washington Hudgins; five siblings, David Lee Hudgins, George Rufus Hudgins, Barbara Ann McClure, Francis Compton and Wray Hudgins; her brother-in-law, Paul Voight; and her beloved grandson, Kole Beaudoin .

The funeral will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 1601 E. Bayview Blvd., with the Rev. Dan Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. After the graveside service, family and friends will gather at the church social hall. Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
